The Legend of Gourmet: The Regal Mammoth

Coco sat down across from Hakai and looked at him. His electromagnetic waves were perky and bouncy, and going all over the place. "Well...I see that there will be an abnormal amount of pain in your future, caused by a woman. She's very attractive, and you two follow each other around a lot. She is most likely your girlfriend, but my predictions are only 97 percent accurate. There's a chance she could just be a woman that likes to abuse you." He said.

Komatsu laughed. "Well, everyone has to learn somewhere, right? I wasn't the greatest chef when I started either."

Soven took it and put it in his bag. "Thanks, but I'll read it later. Lumeste and I are trying to look for a town so we can just see more people. Seriously, you're the only person we've seen in a few hours. It's actually nice to see a person again." He said with a smile.

Hakai paused for a moment, thinking what to say about that. But Ryo! He didn't miss a beat, "Thaaaat sounds about right, wouldn't you think so?"

Hakai kind of grumbled to himself, "Ya ya ya, weren't you the one say this stuff isn't real."

Ryo grinned and itched his nose, "Yeah, I don't think it takes any kind of power to tell something as obvious as that."

He nodded to the fortune teller as Hakai mumbled and walked away, "No fortune for me, just some information thank you kindly. You wouldn't happen to know of any 'Bishokuya' in the area who would be willing to play escort would you? I'm willing to pay of course."

The bitter fortune receiver jumped up, "HEY! What about me? I thought that's why you brought me along, so you wouldn't have to worry about that kind of thing!"

Ryo waved Hakai away, "Preferably some one who won't get me lost."

Yio was finally done with her eight pieces of bacon. But she was still hungry. “Hey, Hakai? Do you have anymore of that bacon?” She asked.

Kali stared at Soven. “Yeah...I guess it is.” She said, not returning a smile. “Make sure you return the book to me after you're done reading it. And don't be reckless with it either.” She said.

Coco smiled. "Luckily for you, I just so happen to be one of those Bishokuya. I was retired, but someone I know got me to do it again. In fact, he should be at the train station right now. I'd suggest we go together; it's about the time that wild beasts start roaming. It's dangerous right now." He said. They all started walking to the train station, but halfway there, a giant beast-just like Coco had predicted-came charging right at them. Before anyone could scream, run, or draw a weapon, however, the beast had its eyes on Coco. The man didn't seem to care, and he kept walking. the monster looked confused for a moment, then scared, and then walked off.

They all made it to the train station, where Toriko's group was just getting off the train. Coco's prediction was right again, another strike against Hakai.

"Oh, Coco! Come to see me again, huh? I'd expect nothing less from the Gentleman of the Four Heavenly Kings." Toriko said with a laugh. Coco chuckled.

"Been eating any good things lately?" Coco asked. He noticed the newcomers. "Your group got slightly larger." He noted. Komatsu ran up to Coco, his arms stretched out for a hug.

"Cocoooooo!" he said enthusiastically. His friend had to practically get on his knees for them to see at the same eye level. Komatsu gave Coco a big hug.

"Hi, Komatsu." Coco was smiling. He stood up. "Well, I originally was only going to take Toriko and Komatsu to lunch, but it seems we have to cater to everyone here. Don't worry about payment, Toriko can put it on his tab." Coco chuckled.

"That's not very gentleman-y." Toriko muttered, but he knew he was going to get stuck with the bill no matter what he said.

"Hello Mr. King person!" Gename said. "My name's Gename. I'm not from around here, but that's ok, right? You're my new friend!" It was clear that he was enjoying this.

"'Mr. King person'?" Coco thought. He looked at Gename. His electromagnetic waves weren't human at all. "What an odd fellow..."

Soven laughed. "Don't imply that I'm irresponsible." Lumeste sighed.

"But you are irresponsible..."

Julian pulled out an old school looking, yes ornate pocket watch, and pressed him thumb on the indent on the side making it open to a roman numeral clock. The clock read 7 PM, yet the sun was still high in the sky. Julian then let out and angry purr. "Curse time zones." He muttered.

The feather bound woman had her attention focused on Komatsu.

"How does one achieve being so tiny compared to everyone else...?" Destiny thought.

"I don't know, but i think he's cute!" Lucia replied to Destiny with her usual enthusiasm.

Sly had walked up to the side to make it look like he was standing between Toriko, and Coco. He put his left pointer and middle fingers against his forehead. "There's so many tall people here that I'm starting to feel kind of short." He said.

Robert chuckled when Gename called Coco “Mr. King Person”. “You sure like to give people odd nicknames.” He said before looking at Coco. “Hello, my name is Robert.”

Yio stared at Toriko then at Coco then back at Toriko. “Man, these guys are so tall...it's a little intimidating...” She thought. “I'm so glad we're going to get something to eat...I'm so hungry...” Then all of a sudden, as if on cue, her stomach growled loudly so that everyone could hear. She quickly put her hands on her stomach as her face turned red from embarrassment.

Kali sighed. “Irresponsible huh? Well, now that I know that, I'll feel better if Lumeste held the book instead. I can't afford to have anything bad happening to it.” She said.

“I'd really like to get out of this forest already...” She thought.

"Sorry Yio, my dear. But we're completely cleared out! AND DUDE!" Hakai practicly flipped backwards at the site of Toriko.
"It's like Bellz and the Captain fused! How the hell does some one manage that!?"

Ryo was...a little uncertain at the site of the blue haired man, "Are you the Bishokuya this gentleman informed us of? Cause if so, I'm in great need of one that can escort me to some of the more interesting ingrediants in this land."

Toriko smiled. "Yeah, I'm a Bishokuya. Coco here is too. I can capture some great ingredients if you want. My price is a nice meal though." Komatsu laughed nervously.

"That's Toriko for you. Always thinking with his stomach..."

"Well, I think that we should go and eat before someone here keels over." Coco said, smiling at Yio.

Before they could however, Soven, Lumeste, and Kali had finally found their way into the town.

"Finally! Civilization! See you guys, I told you that if we kept walking this way we'd eventually find the town!" Soven said, feeling cocky. Lumeste ran up to her brother, panting and trying to catch her breath.

"Soven...I don't have the stamina you have..." she said in between breaths.

"Hey look, there are people over there." Soven said. Both groups just kinda stared at each other for a while.

After some time Robert decided to speak up. “Hello.” He said, breaking the awkward silence that began to grow. “My name is Robert. This is Gename, Toriko, Komatsu, and their friend Coco.” He said.

Yio looked at the Sheikah Trio. “My name is Yio. This is Hakai and that's Ryo. I don't know who the other three are though.” She said before her two stomachs growled loudly at the same time. “I'm so hungry...”

“Hi, my name is Kali. This is Lumeste and her brother, Soven.” She said, crossing her arms.

“So, what brings your here?” He asked.

Kali kinda glared at Robert. “I don't think that's any of your business.” She said.

“...Well then...” Robert thought.

Ryo nodded, "We're here in search of rare and unusal ingrediants to be used in my dishes."
Hakai kind of huffed an upset huff, "Ya, and I was suppose to be his protection but apparently I'm not good enough!"

Ryo waved him off, "Well, while I'm sure we can handle ourselves in terms of protection. We would still require a guide, some one who knew both the map and the locations on the map of the rarer game around these parts."



Hakai WAS going to interupt Ryo, again, but he saw something that caught his eye...A TROUBLED BEAUTY!

"Why hello there! Lumeste was it? You look positively exhausted! Here, have this." he pulled a small canteen with water from his pocket and handed it to her.

"Oh Coco, did you see any of them in your fortunes?" Toriko asked.

"As a matter of fact, I did." he turned to the newcomers. "Hello. It's a pleasure to meet you all." Coco said, still smiling. It seemed to be a pastime of his.

"Hi everyone! It's great to see new people! We should be friends!" Gename piped up.

"Ah, hello." Komatsu said, almost timidly. Lumeste was about to speak up, but Hakai had cut her off and had handed her a canteen. She looked at him, and then at the canteen. Her face started to turn bright red, and some blood trickled out of her nose.

"I apologize for my sister." Soven pulled out a handkerchief and held it over Lumeste's nose. Lumeste took it and proceeded to make the cloth turn red. "She's a little awkward around men. And by awkward, I mean she gets a nosebleed whenever one even acknowledges that she exists."

"I'm really sorry..." Lumeste said. She brought herself to take the canteen and drink from it. "Thank you for the water...I really needed it..." She sounded extremely embarrassed and shy.

"Well, we were just about to head off to a restaurant; you're welcome to join us if you'd like." Coco said. He was going to say something else, but Soven immediately cut him off.

"FoodcomeonLumesteandKalilet'sgoeat!" He was talking so fast his words came out as one big jumble. Gename laughed. Coco gave a polite nod and led the group to a large restaurant.

"You're free to order anything you'd like, no matter the cost." He said, and then turned to Toriko. "I would be grateful if you used your card for some of this."

Yio stared at the restaurant. “Wow, this building is huge! I never saw anything like it before!” She exclaimed. “Come on! Let's not waste anytime! Let's go!” She said before she ran to the doors.

“They don't have restaurants like this back where I come from.” Robert said before he followed Yio.

Kali said nothing as she crossed her arms and walked in.

"Wow..." Sly said looking around the restaurant because of it's huge size. "There's nothing like this back at home!" He added before he took a seat.

"Quite. The only 'big restaurant' back home is our king's dinning room." Julian noted before he took a seat next to his son.

The woman dressed in feathers sat on Sly's right and began to look at a menu.

Ryo acted...unimpressed.
He waved his hand as if waving the whole resturant aside, "When will people ever learn, bigger does not make a meal better. I doubt such a massive establishment could cater to one's individual desires like a single cook kitchen could. Would you agree Chef Komatsu?"





Hakai was...already headed toward the doors!
As if the very smell was levitating him off the ground... He slowly moved towards the doors with out so much as a word.
Well, that is unless you considered, "Uhhhhhhoooooohhhhyyeeeesssss..." a word.

Komatsu chuckled. "Well, the restaurants here do a pretty good job with catering. The hotel I work at is 5 stars and we have lots of regulars." Toriko laughed.

"Ryo, this is the Gourmet Age! The establishments are big and the food is even better!" He boasted. Coco couldn't help but nod a little.

Someone once said...

That there are are a series of smooth vanilla, mint, and chocolate ice cream mountains that are rich in flavor and melt in your mouth. An ice cream mountain range.

It is said that there are fruit which are filled with fried pork over rice, fried fish over rice, beef over rice, and many other delicious rice dishes. A Donburi* fruit.

The world is in the Gourmet Age. The age of pursuing undiscovered flavors!

The group walked inside the restaurant, and they were taken aback by it! Well, the non-natives anyway. The interior was huge and impressively clean. There were tables and counters everywhere, with customers all over, enjoying food that most of the group hadn't seen before! Coco led them all to a giant table, so everyone could sit comfortably.

"Well, order anything you'd like. The meal is on Toriko and I. Don't worry, we'll be able to pay for it." Coco said, handing menus out to everyone. "When you're ready, tell us and we'll call a waiter over."

Yio was handed a menu by Coco as she sat down. “Thank you.” She said before she opened it and began to look through it. “Wow! There's so much tasty food here that I don't know where to start!”

Robert silently studied the menu as he rested his chin on his hand.

A few minutes went by and Kali put down her menu. “I'll just have this spicy soup here and a glass of water.” She said.

Robert also put down his menu. “I'm going to have three portions of...this...this and that.” He said, pointing to the dishes he wanted.

“Hrmm...you know what? I'm gonna have four of everything.” Yio said, putting down her menu.

A startled looking Robert looked at Yio. “Did you said four of everything?”

Yio nodded her head. “Yep.”

“And you can eat all that?”

Yio smiled. “That's right! I have two stomachs and I'm a glutton.”

“I see.” Said Robert.

Ryo tapped his forehead a couple of times. "I'll just have some bread thank you, a cook's sense of taste is best when he's neither hungry nor full. And there are a lot of things out there I need to taste before returning home."

Hakai laughed, "PPPFFFFT! Forget that! I'll have a little bit of whatever the lady's having!" he pointed over to Yio, "And some Ale! I haven't felt the sweet kiss of ale on my lips in weeks!"

There was a cheerful chuckle and a squeak of a chair as someone leaned back, holding the menu up. "I can't pronounce anything on here and I'm still up for eating more then bread!" The white haired teen leaned further back in the chair, looking over Ryo's shoulder. "Anyone from around here to point me to what looks good? I can't see anything that looks or resembles dragonfruit." He said holding his menu sideways, "Maybe I got this upside down."

Yio stared at the white haired teen's dragon wings. “Oh...oh my god...he's...he's a dragon...ohh...what'll he do or say when he finds out that I, who's part dragon, can't transform nto one?” She thought, looking nervous and trying not to make eye contact with him. “Ohh...if he does insult me...I hope they're not as bad as the ones my family lashed at me...”

Robert stared at the teen. “Dragonfruit? Never heard of it.” He said before he looked at the menu. “Hmm...I don't see what your looking for on here. Then again, I'm not from around here so I'm not familiar with their food. But if you just want fruit, I see this place has fruit salads.” He said, trying to be helpful.

Kali said nothing as she stared at the ceiling.

Hakai held up his menu, pointing to a couple of the options, "Dude! Get the pig that looks like it has a built in grill! Or if you want fruit, I think this is like supposed to be some giant head sized blueberry!"

Ryo turned his menu upside down...just out of curiousty. Some of the foods on this menu really were hard to believe. "You're ordering things, and you don't even know what they are."

The goggle headed sniper looked blankly at Ryo, "...yeah and?"

The agitated Chef itched the side of head, "Fine then, but I'm not paying for it. Especially when you realize you don't like half of it."

Hakai laughed, "Ha! How about this? If I eat all of it! No questions asked, YOU pay for my meal!"

Ryo stared at Hakai with daggers for eyes, "....no."

"wha...but why!" the no longer confident tinkerer protested!

"Because to be honest? I've seen you eat things that would make a shark gag. I said you'd be paying for food you didn't like, not food you wouldn't finish." Ryo's answer was quick and just.

The hungry Hakai just kind of dusted it off, acting like he hadn't bet anything, "Man...I could really go for some more of that tree bacon..."

That in the heat of the boiling sun, there is a beautifully cooked, sweet sauce giving off a delicious aroma. A desert of Yakisoba*, the Yakisobaku!*

Overflowing with chocolate and covered with syrup, there is a tree that will become a thick, sweet dessert. A chocolate fon-jyu.*

Yakisoba means "fried noodles", and Yakisobaku is a pun of that, meaning "Fried Noodle Desert".
Chocolate fon-jyu is a pun on "Chocolate fondue" and jyu, meaning "tree".

Toriko looked over at the white haired teenager. He hadn't seen anyone quite like him before. He didn't seem to be the kind to cause trouble, so he decided to be pleasant back.

"Everything here's good! I don't know what a dragonfruit is though, is it any good?" He said, adding the dragonfruit comment as an afterthought. As Toriko was conversing with the newcomer, Coco decided to diffuse the situation between Ryo and Hakai.

"Ah, it's ok. Toriko and I can pay for whatever you order ourselves. You don't have to worry about it, really. It's our treat, so please, don't hold back."

Gename was still confused, looking at the menu. He just decided to give up. "I'll have whatever Toriko's having!" He said. Komatsu looked a little startled before he went back to pouring over his menu.

Soven and Lumeste were looking over the same menu. "Everything here looks so good, I don't know what to pick!" Soven said.

"Well, this here looks good. Let's try it." Lumeste said.

"How about we get from here down?" Soven asked.

"Soven, that's like, half of the menu. Know what? Fine. I'll just have this then." the white-haired Sheikah said with a long sigh.

As everyone was placing their orders, two men wearing crisp suits and sunglasses were walking around the town. It seemed like they were looking for someone...

"Fruitsalad? Sorry. I'm a bit of a potatos and potatos guy myself. Hmm.none huh. Well I guess it is a bit of a strange fruit. I'd say it's a bit of an acquired taste. It doesn't have much flavor to most people." He stood up. "I don't mean to intrude, but if you can't tell, I'm a bit of a traveler. I don't must like being alone and you guys seem to know whats good on the menu." He quickly took his seat and sat beside Yio, gently lifting her hand and sniffed her wrist. "I believe you might like it though. You should give it a taste someday." He lowered his voice to barley above a whisper. Lloyd's eyes looked back at a few people walking past to a table, mumblings rumors of a giant, flying lizard seen over the fields near town before heading away. "Don't worry. I can pay for myself. Just looking for a bit of company." He grabbed the waiter's arm. "I'll have this thing that looks like some sort of stir-fry. No chicken please."

Yio felt a little uneasy when Lloyd sat down next to her and jolted a little when he took her hand and sniffed her wrist. “Umm...o-ok...if I run into this fruit...I'll try it...” She said, pulling her hand away when Lloyd turned his attention to the waiter.

Robert sighed as he thought of all the food Yio ordered. “Four of everything...damn...” He said before he turned to Komatsu. “Hey, Komatsu, how do you feel about Yio's order of four of everything?” He asked.

Coco looked over at Lloyd and Yio. "Their electromagnetic waves are so similar. I can't tell what they are though." He thought to himself before he placed an order.

Komatsu turned to Robert. "Ah well...Toriko's probably eaten more. It doesn't really surprise me. But..It's not every day you see a girl eat that much though." He placed an order as well.

"Soven, you've ordered way too much..." Lumeste sighed. "Just because Toriko and Coco said that you could get whatever you wanted, doesn't mean you have to rack up an abysmally high tab."

"Hey, free food! An offer like this doesn't come around often, so I'm gonna get my money's worth!" Soven said excitedly. Lumeste sighed.

"You mean Toriko and Coco's money."

Gename waited for Toriko to place an order, so he could place his order too.
