The Grand Sea RP Character Registration

A Dream Made Real~
Some tales are to great to simply be told, but sailing into adventure without first testing the current is a quick way to a watery grave. These lands are very different from the ones you are familiar with. This story takes place 20 years after the events of Windwaker. The complete sinking of Hyrule in said tale resulted in a number of unbelievable changes to the Sea you once knew. The three biggest being, the Sea levels dropped, the storms that once swirled about the Great Sea finally calmed, and powerful new treasures began to appear from the depths. So prepare for a quick prelude before you start your tale. This may take a bit.

Those Who Do Not Learn From History...
With the sea levels dropping, existing islands have expanded greatly, and whole new ones have begun to emerge! This has caused a mad dash for farmable and developable land in recent years. Whole island cultures have been changed by the simple add of land.
With the deadly waves and storms that once entrapped the Great Sea gone, entire regions were opened up to be traded with. The ocean charts had to be completely rewritten! New peoples and ideas began to flow between the quickly developing villages and towns.
And of course, the biggest game changer of all. With Hyrule completely submerged now, many of its lost relics and treasures began to float up to the surface. Entire ruins have some how made their way ashore! It didn't take long for people to begin collecting and hoarding whatever they found. Those who were without were quick to take from those who had. With treasure this great, murder was never out of the question.

And so, only 3 years after the events of Windwaker, the Dark Decade of Pirates began. Men would band their power together so as to to travel from island to island and take what they felt belonged to them. If they weren't destroying villages, they were fighting one another. These brutal men preyed upon the weak farmers and villagers whom rarely left their islands, much less knew how to fight. The flames of raids could often be seen engulfing whole ports from several miles away.
It was then, that a number of men on the small island of Windfall decided, enough was enough. They pooled their skills and numbers together, and crafted something of a militia to fight back the raiders. Though out numbered and notably inexperienced, the militia proved to be just what the islanders needed. Soon other islands began to do the same, and in an attempt to protect trade routes, these militia's were merged one by one into a fearless military that swore to protect the people from the unjust scum of the sea! Thus the Grand Sea Navy was born.

It was about 13 years after the events of windwaker that the GSN came into power. A military alliance between all the islands that now make up the Inner Sea (Once called the Great Sea). With their combined effort (and easily acquired pirate loot) they successfully eliminated the pirate threat by either death, imprisonment, or bribe. (As they killed or captured pirates, they found it easier to use the confiscated loot to bribe other pirates into their own ranks.) Though they had won this war, piracy was a constant threat. For some reason, the GSN felt that if it let up for even a moment, all hell would break loose and a new Pirate war would begin. And so they maintained their strict rule on the trades and distribution of treasure on the Inner islands. They tried to do the same on the Outer islands, but this proved difficult as these seas were still dangerous and filled with monsters of unknown types. But even so, one couldn't even pick up Rupees on the shoreline with out having them confiscated and "redistributed."
And sea travel for fun? Ha! The people rarely wished to leave their homes before. They would certainly no longer want that option now! Sea travel for fun lead to nothing but unlawful beahvior.

But it didn't take long... There's something about freedom that calls to every man once and a while. Something about the fresh sea air that whispers in your ear....don't you want to know? Don't you want to see...what's out there? It wasn't rare for some to join the Navy or become fishermen or trade merchants simply to sail the sea. But it wasn't enough, to many people were growing tired of the Grand Sea Navy's rules. It was then and there that Admiral Henry Morgan declared openly to all, his complete disdain for the Navy's control over what he believed to be the free sea and her bounty. Leaving with a fleet of 6 ships and over 120 men, he started the New Age Pirate Rebellion that still continues to this very day.

Declaring the open sea their home, these New Age Pirates seek only to make a living upon the big blue, by any means possible. But the Navy still fights them bitterly, not because they threatin the safety of the innocent, but because they threaten the sovereignty of the Navy's power. Fueled by ambition and a desire for freedom, the Pirates fight with both skill and cunning. Fueled by honor and a desire for order, the Navy fights with both might and swiftness. For no man fights without something to believe in.

And so we reach the current year. Some 20 years after the tale of the Windwaker had ended, the Pirate Rebellion has been going on for nigh on 7 years now and has reached something of a stalemate. Much of the Outer Sea has become freelance territory, but the Navy's presence is everywhere despite the gutsy moves Pirates often make into Navy territory.
Whom ever you are, where ever you are from, this is the divided world you find yourself in. The endless blue calls to you, but
the question is, do you heed it? Do you seek freedom and ambition! Or protection and honor? Are you adog of the sea? Or a dog of the military? Choose wisely, as a new storm is brewing on the horizon.

Be 't 10 voyages or a 100. Ever' man has at least one grain o' sand at th' bottom o' th' hourglass.
(Ex. Anyone older than 10 can live the life of a sailing man. But lack of experience often leads to a quick death. The sea WILL be trying to kill you!)

Earthly Class! (Gender):
Most any on th' sea be assumed a man. Can lasses really make 't ou' thar? Prove t' me otherwise!
(Ex. Women can be pirates too! I think...)

Port o' origin! (Birthplace or home):
No man be an isle, arrr, at least not wi' ou' bein' born on one first!
(Ex. Despite the changes, any island you know of in Windwaker can be used. Infact, doing so automaticlly fills in that island on the map. Coming from outside the map or world is no issue, but at least give a good reason for why you're on this god forsaken sea!)

Ambitions! (Class):
Aye, listen carefully now on accoun' o' this be a tough one. In this land men be divided among two groups. Citizens an' Pirates. Citizens choose t' live by th' laws th' Navy has established, Pirates do not.

On th' Sea, Citizens be further divided into one o' two classes.
-Sailors be them who make thier livin' on th' Sea followin' th' Navy`s laws, but really dasn't care what Pirates do. They avoid fightin' when possible. Safety be th' desire o' all Sailors.
-Marines be ere who actively support th' Navy, whether they be apart 't or nay. They usually hate Pirates an' do whaterethey can t' fight 'em. Order be th' desire o' all Marines.

O' course Sea dogs be also divided into two classes.
-Morgania be Sea dogs who hate th' Navy`s control on th' sea, an' go ou' o' the'r way t' destroy an' raid Navy ships an' Ports. Named fer th' first New Age Pirate, they actively swashbuckle against any an' all Marines. Freedom be th' desire o' all Morgania.
-An' o' course Peace Mains. These Sea dogs be a lot like Sailors in that they really dasn't care what th' Navy does or says. They simply live the'r lives freely on th' sea doin' as they please. Many o' them be havin' established somethin' o' a Pirates Code, a rule o' free law that they feel th' whole sea ortin' ta follow. Adventure be th' desire o' all Peace Mains.

Powers:
Solid Shadow: He takes a shadow and makes it 100% solid. Physical attacks are ineffective against it, but magical attacks do serious damage. You can hit him with a physical attack when he uses Solid Shadow if you distract him.

Animated Shadow: He takes someone's shadow and makes it fight against the target. It is almost like a Solid shadow, only it is tangible. Many solid hits can bring it down.

Speeding Shadow: He ingests as many shadows as he can hold, then spits them out at the target with the same power and accuracy as a gun. (The actual gun this attack is modeled after is tba)

Talents:
Shadow's Memory: He'll eat someone's shadow (which has no effect on the target) and temporarily gain their knowledge and memory. This lasts for 20 minutes.

Shadow Wings: He'll take a shadow and turn them into wings so he can fly. This only lasts 30 minutes.

Shadow of His Former Self: He can turn into a shadow or melt into a shadow at will. This lasts until he wants to go back.

His tail makes him a bit of an acrobat, as he can do many things with it that humans can't. It's also very sharp at the end, and can be used as a weapon in a pinch.

Demon's known as the perfect little spy, his abilities and powers make him perfect for many missions. He's so good at what he does, there's hardly anyone in Oasis who knows about him. He would rather not spend time with people, but if he feels like having some fun, he will. He also pesters men that don't wear pink to wear it, as he sees the color pink as a manly color. He'll instigate fights with everyone, but if he eats someone's shadow and he likes the taste, he'll warm up to that person really fast. Same if he finds a man wearing pink. He's extremely loyal to those two categories of people. He prefers to be alone, unless a friend is around. If someone yanks on his tail, he'll tell you to be careful of the pointy end. If you keep pulling on his tail, he'll cut you with the end of his tail. If you keep pulling on his tail, then he'll fight you.

Demon is rather laid-back when he's not on missions. He's very calm and collected, but he prefers to be doing something at all times. He loves to eat and cause trouble.

She doesn't care what others think of her, but will sometimes give someone backlash for them insulting her. She generally tends not to care about things that don't regard her or Demon, but will lend a helping hand to Demon's friends. She can be rude most of the time.

Her only power is the ability to shapeshift. She's excellent at becoming people, but not so great at becoming animals or complex shapes. She can, however, turn into a cannonball or a jar, or things that aren't very detailed. She is also decent with a gun, but is not so great with a sword.

She's constantly on the run from the Navy. However, she causes them massive amounts of trouble which is why she has a giant bounty on her head. Whenever she's caught shapeshifting, her bounty goes up. She doesn't care though. She has a small boat that can be run by herself. She doesn't outwardly say that she
wants a crew, but she really does want one. She loots and doesn't care who gets in her way.

Welcome! This here is the Ban of Pirates supposingly part of Morgania's gang AND the GSN! But who are they? They are the Aide! Sailing the Inner Sea on the fair ship known as the Alice, They break the laws of the Sea to help people (No wonder peaple can't figure out who they are!) Leading them is the ever so sarcastic Captian Dimetri.

Many things are unkown about her since she is a really good actress and does everything from being cruel to disiusing herself as a guy to get what she wants. She has a minor rivalry with Cornelia, though she can work with her on missions.

After that, she satyed at a circus as a balancing person and meet Cornelia and Dimetri and helped them escape. She is one of the few people to have a friendly relation to Asia.
Vivi is very bubble and hyper and might as well have ADHD.

Other Info: Orphaned at an early age, Cornelia was sold into slavery in Hyrule. However, after the royal family banned slavery, Cornelia was taken to an adoption home and was going to be adopted when a unknown man known as the "Ring Leader" got to her and doing as he always do, deformed her face . He then sold her to the Dark Forest Woods where she stayed until Dimetri broke her out. After being trained by Asia (whom she has a rivalry with) she became a skilled swords woman.

That means no spirit form, no flying, no magic and she has to carry around her weapon like real swordsmen used to do. Her sword is Curator, in dragon tounge means, the gaurdian. (latin)

-Menroe is the Spirit of Spirit and a dragonmaster. Why is she in some other world (agian) and why isn't she using magic? Old man Extraxi says no. He has somehow put a seal on her magic like she onced to have before her dragonish blood was awken so learn to relay on her own strength and mind and less on magic. Atleast he was nice enough to make her a hilt. She can be very cowardly at times, but usally does anything to help. Doesn't mind doing dirty jobs either. She decided to stay on Dragon Roost, since it was close to a dragon, and travels the caverns and Chu- Chu covered pawprint iles to train.

But he carries that automatic deep affection parents should have towards their children. Ask him, he's got a story for all of them, although to some ears, they sound like fairy tales. He's a blacksmith and surprising a sort of scholar and adventurer. He is not shy of showing Menroe his affection or back away from a drinking challange. He doesn't look like Menroe? No, she took more from her moth, but he never fails to point out she has his beautiful eyes >:3

-A sword by no name. It is a copy of a sword that had affected his childhood (Shaped somewhat like the master sword, but rapier form and isnt it.) Plays a mean panflute.
-Learned from his Dad and a stranged best friend the ways of the sword. When he was 14, he had a tramatic and life changing experience that took him to the past to save his present. He was bearly born around the time the Navy was first created. Traveling forward and back through time though, messed with not only his time, but his older sister's. Her dream of becoming cheiftan of Outset and his of wanting to travel the seas as pirate's like their mother was a dream washed away in the waves now. He enrolled in the Navy training courses a year after the insidents and due to his natural skill and experiences, he made his way up to Navy Combat Warlord, the youngest to almost reach Captian's rank. Unfroutnaly, he has gained a slight hatred towards pirates of all kind, including his own mother, which worries his sister. Ironiclly, he doesn't relize how much of the pirate blood is still in him, refusing to wear full uniform and keeping his hair unkept and long.

Rumor or not, he has amazing acrobatic abilites he credits to his cape and lucky feather. His blade, Nakura, is a Relic given to him by his father before his death. Despite its age, it's never chipped or dulled even once. Interestingly enough, it's been said he carries the curse of a Sea Nymph. He claims you should never hurt those he cares about, lest you awaken his "inner beast." (Not that the guy can get anymore beastly though!)

Character personality: Despite all the rumors and lore describing him as a relentless beast. He's actually extremely optimistic and passionate about everything he does. Never putting in anything less than 110%, it's almost annoying how easily excited he gets over things. Upon first meeting him, you'd think the rumors false. The man's far to easily entertained and will believe almost anything he's told. He's been known to try and recruit most everyone he's met into his crew, but almost all turn him down on account of finding him hard to tolerate and very different from how they heard him described.

Powers, Talents, and Weapons: A master of swordplay, he's among the few who have learned the 'CuttingGales' style. A swordstyle that allows the user to give the very air around his blade, sharpened edge like properties. Although he's excellent with a saber, his style is best done with a Katana, of which he carries at his side at all times.

Character personality: Yet again, a man who's reputation often leads to confusion when he's actually met. Said to be an emotionless killer, really, he's just super laid back! Lax and relaxed, almost everything is like water off a sharks back with this guy. His day consists of 20% sleeping, 20% blank staring, 10% steering the boat where the map says to, and 40% swordtraining (and even then, the 20% blank staring usually fits in between each workout). Despite mastering a deadly art, he really doesn't like killing. But if asked to spar, he's wicked fast in every sense of the word.

Two fairly large cutting knives wielded reverse style are his weapons of choice, and he uses them very well. Although not as strong as Bellamy or as fast as Rozo, this cook's "soundless step" technique allows him move freely anywhere without making so much as a breath of noise. Ideal for when catching the BIG ones!

A friend of Ryo's is a well fed friend indeed, but you only reach that status by staying OUT of the kitchen. But as uptight and territorial as he tends to be, he's really not that bad of a guy. Get him fishing, and he's almost as relaxed as the king of chill Rozo!

However, as easily as he could kill a man, he's taken a Doctor's Oath to never cause death with the knowledge he's earned in his medical studies. All of his poisons are purely temporary.

It doesn't matter if your 4 or 40, he's always giving advice and worrying so you don't have to. He says it's all apart of his "wonderful bedside manner." A child at heart, he tends to goof off more than most of the crew. But in the end, the crew tends to rely his bright and sunny personality to make it through those miserable midnight storms.

He'd rather run than fight any day! But hurt his "family" and you'll awaken yet another beast on this ship. Like a cannon, he just sits there until you light him.

Character personality: The pure definition of a gentle giant. His great size and brawn is nothing but a curse on this pacifistic lover of nature. Known to paint canvases of the islands and seascapes he sees on his journies, his room is covered in paintings and small flowers he's pick up on the different islands. He's absolutely terrified of water, and prefers to stay up in the crows nest, often sleeping there more comfortably than in his own bed. But as much as he hates fighting, and water, and spiders, and snakes, and the idea of going home to Port Tingle, he's just about willing to do anything for a friend.

Character personality: An absolutely carefree girl, she loves to adventure and make friends. To her, all of life is a game, and she'll do anything to keep it that way. She's a total tomboy, and while part of her kind of wishes she'd finally fillout, for the most part she thinks it's funny that almost everyone in the crew thinks she's a young boy. As such, she's working to keep it that way. She figures the later they find out, the funnier the moment will be. It's interesting that one of the most carefree crew mates, next to Rozo of course, acutally has the most work on the ship. Constantly cleaning and washing under Ryo's command, she never seems to complain though.


Ship: The Romance Dawn is 3 Mast Frigate with a total of 30 guns on it's main deck. Capable of holding up to 200 people, it's ran by a surprisingly small and tenacious crew of 8.

Crew: Captain of the Armistice, a small ship thats only 1/3 of the size most ships are.
Powers, Talents, and Weapons: Can use many weapons, prefers the use of two curved short swords, and a knife or three. Can run fast, and is a great sailor and has a good sense of direction.
Character Description: Tall, lanky, with longish blonde hair. Doesn't look too intimidating till his knife's up your ass throat.

Birthplace or Home: Aiyern, a small port town on an island in the Outer Sea.

Class: Morgania.

Backstory: Xander was born in Aiyern, a small isle in the Western region of the Outer Sea. However, Aiyern was isolated from most of the other islands, and mostly natives knew of its existence, and not much else. Those who did know about it said it was not the safest of ports. The skies seemed duller around it, even on the brightest of days. Ships rarely visited, despite its rather large docking area. The most eerie thing about it, however, were the tales of a sea monster that supposedly swam circles around the island each day. Slicruk, as the residents called it, spied on them hungrily, but was patient nonetheless. Xander's father was a captain of a Grand Sea Navy vessel, and the Navy forced him to hunt for Slicruk to increase tourism, therefore making them more money. On a rather misty day, he readied his crew and equipment. Once they set sail, they disappeared into the fog rather quickly, despite only having to travel a short distance. Days later, the ship still didn't return. Xander was left alone and parentless, due to his mother dying of yellow fever when he was very young. He could not pay off the money to the Navy to have the right to live in his house anymore, and was forced to move to a rickety shack near the forest. There, he lived, hunted, got water, and made furniture all by himself. All that he had from his old house was a small necklace his father used to wear that also functioned as a dagger. As of now, he is trying to raise enough money to buy a ship to sail the sea and get revenge on the Navy for forcing his dad to do the inevitable, even if it means becoming a pirate.

Appearance:



Personality: He is mostly serious, but does enjoy joking around a bit. It may not look like it, but he is also slightly timid. Despises the Navy, but isn't really a pirate. He prefers to be alone, but will grin and bare it when he socializes with friendly people. If angered, he will usually warn the person first, and will attack if they don't stop.

Skills: He survived on his own for most of his life, so he can find food and water easily, and can start a fire with only a few pieces of flint and tinder. He has a little experience in deck work, after his father showed him on his ship. He taught himself to use weapons, and can create one if he has the materials.

Weapons: A flintlock pistol that he crafted himself, and a cross-shaped necklace that doubles as a dagger when in a pinch.

Weaknesses: He is not able to swim well in water deeper than five feet, and will panic if he falls in. Also, due to him hearing many tales of Slicruk, he is afraid of most creatures of the deep, besides basic fish.

So I decided to bring in someone else. This is Kryys, who I used in the WW, but he's very very different, and definitely not the same person.

So, I took the updated map 64 had in the RP and updated it agianish, it looks like shit cause i had to kinda draw in some myself, but I thought it would be nice. But, I reread through the entire rp to get locations and fights.

BTW I wasn't sure where Yolk island was for sure, but i knew it was outside the inner sea cause 64 mentioned the inner sea had it blocked and it had to be near Dragon Roost since they mention the riot tribes closeness. I also wasnt sure where the first fight with Nova vs the navy before stow awaying on the Dawn was but I knew it had to be near Dragon Roost to where the Dawn could see it, but lower south to where the Alice was able to see the dawn and of course Menroe being able to see the smoke from it.

Anyway, The blue lightning bolts are where we've encountered huge monster attacks, the red x's are where they're have been battles and the stars (only 1 right now) is where there has been a Mirare Island encounter. The numbers are which order they took place.

She stands with violet cat ears with white insides upon the top of her head with midnight black hair that's half-way down her back and over her right eye leaving the left glistening yellow eye as her primary source of seeing.
She is a bit outlandish to some folks on the grand sea as she bears a dark blue tube top and a sleeveless maroon trench coat on her upper half so her violet fur doesn't suffocate and then she has her very ornate gold necklace with an odd looking "big pearl" on the end of it
On her lower half, she wears a simple dark blue skirt that goes down to her ankles, but can leave her right leg uncovered at times, but none the less her slim violet cat tail is always out so it can move freely.
She doesn't have a big taste in shoes, so she wears simple brown sandles.

Personality:
Jewel is a woman devoted to her cause as she wants nothing more then to see the kids in her orphanage adopted. She, despite her outlandish appearance and stern look, is a kind women who clearly carries a sad tale in her, but wishes to leave it behind. She isn't a big fan of violence and conflict, but insists that the children within her orphanage learn some form of way to defend themselves if bandits, pirates, or some other form of harm came their way.

With the help of his husband Eon, he's become a lot less timid and shy, but he's still a little quiet around new people, but that's exactly what he set off on this for! To test his social ability on his own, and hopefully eliminate the quietness that haunts him. Once warmed up to people, Cethin is pretty much an average Joe to put it simply. He cares about who he loves and likes, and the works.

Personality:
She is very kind and calm. But just like how the sea changes from calm to rough, she gets angry very quick when prevoked. When she's helping those stuck out at sea she doesn't let herself bee seen. Only on rare occasions does she show herself. But every now and then people sometimes catch a glimpse of her.
