What would you like to see in future Zelda?

Hey, ppl! SuperMario here.

I created this topic so the members here at Hyrule Field could discuss what they want to see in the Zelda series's future. I got the idea from this after looking at too much fan-fiction, but it might be a good idea for this site. I think they had something like this on Sacred Grove, but we could probably use it. Anyway, you can post what you want to see in new Zelda, like new features or ideas about plots, new characters, items, and the like. Who knows, maybe Nintendo might see this and use one of our ideas.

Personally, I'd like to see the magic meter brought back. I was disappointed when it was removed from Twilight Princess. A lot more items could have been created if they kept it! Also, maybe Nintendo could create a turn-based battle Zelda, or a Zelda MMORPG. Finally, it would be great if characters besides Link were playable in more games, each with their own items and abilities.

Modern Zelda...hmmm...I'd rather not. Can we keep in the middle ages, please? Spirit Tracks was crossing the line. I don't mind seeing futuristic in fanfics, but I don't want to see it in a game.

I didn't really like the future stuff in ST but I like the stuff in TP

Yeah, I think Link should stick to his Dark ages/Rennaisance traditions. It's a LEGEND, after all. I mean it IS cool to see some somewhat modern things in Zelda like the hookshot, but modern Zelda? Aughk. Not like Pop Culture doesn't soil us already.

Eh, modern Zelda probably wouldn't work out as well as they Zelda games as we know them. I guess they could use a musket-type weapon in a game, but that came right off the top of my head.

I'd like to see another dark-tone Zelda...With VOICE ACTIN! Twilight Princess would've been so much better if the other characters talked. (link not so much.) I'd also like to see the return of classic 2-D Zelda. Top down birds-eye-view for the win!

Voice acting is a good idea, but I hear Nintendo doesn't want to include it after the Unholy Triforce of Zelda on CDi. As long as it sounds like the actors are really trying, I'm for it. As for top-down games, I like them, but I prefer the third-person camera games like Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess. The top-down games make me think I don't have much of a role in the story, as I am not seeing the world as the characters see it. Reminds me of my first Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks playthroughs, most of the cutscenes had cinematic-style camera angles, but after you've played for a while without seeing cutscenes, it doesn't feel as fun, since you're getting a bird's-eye view. Don't get me wrong, though. The top-down games are still great. It's just that video game technology has evolved several times, and it can do much more, but the classics are still great fun, should you get your hands on one.

I think it would be kinda neat to have link use pianos at specific places instead of having a portable instrament. It woulnt contribute to the gameplay much, but it would be cool.

But a piano has 81 or so keys. The average controller has about 5-10.

LIES, MM used the Ocarina as the main instrument. I disregard it's changing forms to suit the masks.

I wonder if Skyward Sword'll have an instrument...

Main characters never talk in games.

He talks quite a lot in the books, that's enough to satisfy me.

I think the game would be missing something if they made link talk. Every time I try to picture it something just isnt right. I mean, can you imagine what his voice would sound like?
