Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?
Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?
A question that has bugged Zelda fans for centries. So tell me, what do you think?
Re: Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?
Well, of course they are! All diehard Zelda fans know that any civilized lifeform are called Hyrulians, or citizens of Hyrule. Being a citizen is the same as being a person. Therefore, they are most likely people. Also, their bodies are partially identical to the bodies of Hylians and humans. Their brains are capable of letting them talk and be able to solve problems and do various actions, be it simple or complex. If they weren't considered people, there would probably have a program similar to Women's Sufferage or PETA determinded to get them that right. But, those are my own personal thoughts.

I agree with Midna'sWolf. They're too much on the animal side to be considered people to me. :p

I kind of think of them as highly conscious beasts. Intelligent, but still not human.

Re: Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?
Hmm. Well what distinguishes a human from an animal? Is it te ability to think? Or is it the abstract concept of the soul? If it's those two, then Zoras and Gorons are people too.
Re: Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?
Agreed.
As humans, we declare people to be what we are. But what do you call an intelligent being of a different shape or form?
As farm as I'm concern, you can be monster, alien, bigfoot, or mermaid. But so long as you are a 'sentient' lifeform, you are infact a person.

Re: Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?
Not all the time, in most poems and stories, animals are like people in a way. Giving them Feeling and things that we can only do, and besides, the Zoras can Do most of everything we do, and they are like Indian tribes that live and love the water.
As for the Gorons, they use terms that we know, like: "Brother" using it as a term that they are a friendly tribe, and not a hostile, only to the enemy they get hostile.
So Gorons and Zoras are the term: "Human-like"

Re: Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?
I think they count in the general term of people, but not human. Human is a short version of homosapian, which Zoras and gorons arnt

Re: Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?
See, 'people' has two meanings. The text book definition, and the romantasized definition.
Text book definition says human-beings.
Romantisized definition says anything capable of sentient thought.
The issue is, since in reality, human-beings are the only animals capable of sentient thought. We're the only 'people' even in the romantisized definition.
But if we were to ever run into another race out there, capable of thought like us, are they not people too?
Was it not but 100 or so years ago that we didn't even include all of man under the definition 'people'?
Africans weren't people, Easterners weren't people, and those heathenist indians CERTAINLY weren't people!
By the third, political definition! You're not a person until you are given civil rights and appropriate representation in government. And last I checked, the King of Hyrule views both the Goron Patriarch and the Zora King as equals to himself.

Re: Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?
Yeah, not enough like a human (although they sotra remind me of chimeras...
Human + Rock = Goron
Human + Fish = Zora
So they may have once evolved from humans and had just adapted to their environment

2. I'm gonna back you up on this. I feel a little on the fene, but if youtruly think out it saying that Gorons are not is completely... false...
Re: Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?

Re: Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?
Yeah but if you went up to a group of gorons or zoras, you wouldn't say, "What's up people?"
Re: Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?
Yes, I would. No kidding. I would hug them! Just like they were people!

Re: Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?
Well this is talking about whether we consider them human, or another being
Re: Are Gorons and Zoras Considered People?
Why don't you start a civil rights movement for the gorons and zoras? Cus they TOTALLY need that, and aren't completely fine with where they live and how they live their lives.
