About the Modai

They are an androgynous race of people that live all over, however they all originated from the same planet. Despite being genderless, they do have the ability to reproduce. They must make a pact with someone outside of their own race, which must last for at least a year. Then they are bound together spiritually for the duration of the contract. The Modai will essentially become a slave to their owner, having to take all the abuse they receive during that period. When the contract ends, that is when they can reproduce, by transforming into the type of person their owner desires most, to make the process easier for the both of them. If the owner refuses to uphold their end of the contract, then the Modai will get what it needs by force.

All of their children are born androgynous, however, "genetic miracles" as they call it, happen, and some of them are born with a discernible gender, however, the body parts do not function the way they're supposed to, so they have to make a pact. They have technology similar to the technology on Earth, however there are differences.

Since the Modai aren't entirely human, they can do things that humans can't, which makes them efficient as servants and caretakers.

Ara's History

Ara was born with a "genetic miracle" and is of the female gender. Growing up, people had plenty of mixed feelings about her. Some people were jealous, others were scared, others thought she was a miracle child and would shower her with attention, but most people treated her as a normal individual.

As she grew up, she took steps to look more androgynous, by binding her chest and wearing padding to hide her figure. She went to school and learned how to be a geneticist, so she could help her people become more like she was. When she was accepted into the field of genetics, she stopped disguising herself and embraced what she was. In order for her to learn more about her genetic structure and the genetic structures of others, she traveled to Earth looking for someone to make a pact with.

She was able to form a pact with a man there, named Mason Wiles. She did not know that he had no intention of upholding the contract with her when they made it. When it was forged, Ara donned a male persona named Adon. Almost every day of her first year working for Mason, she had to duck, dodge, and keep herself out of harm's way, because Mason had ordered her assassination. For her second year, the attacks stopped, but she basically became a slave, but she didn't care.

Halfway into the third year of the contract, Ara learned that her owner had no intentions of keeping up his end of the bargain. She implored him to fulfill his end of the deal, but he would not. A few days later, he learned that Ara actually was female by birth, and lightened up on what she had to do, but he still refused to fulfill the contract. The day before it ended, Ara begged Mason to reconsider his stance on the matter, but he would not.

When the contract had ended, Ara got what she wanted. Mason had refused to give her a child, so she turned the three years of torture she endured on him and brutally attacked him until he complied. Her child was born a male, but still was unable to reproduce with it. However, the information she had collected from her time on Earth was enough to successfully breed a Modai with a gender, and she functioned a female would.

Personality

Ara is a very determined person. She will do everything in her power to make sure she gets the things that have to be done, done. She's not shy around anyone, however she will be quiet when the topic shifts to gender, as it's a touchy subject for her. She is nice and polite, even to Mason, even though she knows that she shouldn't be.

Ara has no powers to speak of, however she can do things that humans can't, or do things better than most other humans.

History

Mason was born to a regular family. He had no siblings and was showered with love and gifts from his parents, which completely corrupted him. When he moved out, he was looking for new ways to get money and gifts and things, but he found that people didn't like his attitude. Basically shunned by most people, Mason was able to find a way to get the money he needed to buy a giant mansion and hire servants, all of whom he treated like crap.

One of Mason's actual true friends, Gregory, had told him about these people that would be servants through contracts, and they were much better at doing things than any normal human could do. Mason sought out these servants and made a contract with Ara. When he realized what he had to do in order to fulfill his contract, he hired assassins and hitmen to kill Ara. He underestimated what his new servant could do, and she was never harmed too badly. Gregory told Mason that the contract holders are bonded to each other through spirit, and one wrong move could cost Mason his life, so he stopped trying to assassinate Ara.

In the second year, Mason stuck to abuse like he did with the other servants. He would even chain up Ara in the basement sometimes, but she said nothing. When Mason told Gregory that he wasn't going to uphold his end of the contract, Gregory begged and pleaded that he did. Mason refused. when he learned that Ara actually was a female, he treated her just a tad nicer, but still refused to uphold his contract.

The day before the contract ended, Ara pleaded that Mason say yes to the contract. He still refused, even on the day it came time for Ara to get what she wanted. Ara beat him to a pulp before she got what she wanted. After Mason recovered and went back to his mansion, he had found out that all of his servants were still there, waiting for him. Ara was gone, but she told them what had happened, and they threatened to abandon him if he didn't get his act together. Mason agreed and actually took the steps to be better to his servants.

Personality

Mason is incredibly rude, ill mannered, obnoxious, abusive (physically and verbally), and ignorant. Moreover, when someone threatens him, he'll hide behind Ara and tell her to do something about the threat.

History

Like all the kings and queens born before him, Gevyl was met with praise all around Oasis. He was taught proper etiquette when he was 5, and trained how to use Europa's Gilded Lance when he was 10. When he was officially crowned king at the age of 18, he trained his body to be strong, so if he ever had to fight for any reason, he would be prepared to defend the land Europa left for him. When he was 21, he had a terrible pain in his ring finger on his right hand. When he moved it, it broke.

The doctors told him he had Fibrodisplasya, a rare disease where muscle turns to bone. Because it had been caught rather early, they were able to start to treating him for it, but Oasis has no known cure for it. He invited Angel to live in the castle with him at that point, because he knew that he was going to have to pass the torch on to her soon. He didn't tell her at first, but when he was in so much pain that he could barely walk, he told her what was going on.

Gevyl fought the disease every day, loading himself with the medication to alleviate the pain and let him function normally. When Gax claimed the castle, he had no time to grab all of his medicine, and left with only a meager fraction of what he had stockpiled. He disguised himself inside the resistance to be a simple commoner. when he ran out of his medication, he became almost bed-ridden and depressed. Nobody in the resistance questioned him, because they all secretly knew who he was.

On a day where he was actually not in that much pain, Demon found the resistance and challenged Angel. Gevyl intervened and fought him instead. He took off the muscle restrictions he wore so it would slow down the process of his disease, and gave Demon a run for his money. He decided to use the last trick he had up his sleeve, Shockwave Impact. Angel distracted Demon by removing her top, and Gevyl went in for the kill shot. However, at the last second, his elbow locked up and slowed down the delivery time by half a second. It was enough for the time of his fist and the time of the shockwave to be misaligned, and instead of killing him, it only paralyzed Demon's abdomen.

Gevyl went in for the kill shot once more, but he didn't pay attention to his opponent's tail. When he leaned over demon's paralyzed body to kill him, Demon flicked his tail up and non-fatally stabbed Gevyl in the abdomen. Angel rushed to his side and kept telling him that everything was going to be ok, but the king knew what was going to happen. Demon's tail was poisoned and since the blow didn't kill him, the poison would.

He told Angel not to cry, and instead to herald him to Europa. She did, and he died peacefully in her arms, devoid of pain for the first time since he was diagnosed with his disease.

Personality

Gevyl is a very nice and happy man. He goes out of his way to make sure his people are happy. He'll give flowers to children he sees when he leaves the castle. He's not quick to anger, but you don't want to see him when he loses his temper. He's very easygoing.

Abilities

"Thousand Eyes": When using Europa's Gilded Lance, Gevyl can make one thousand eyes appear on his body to see his target better, in the same fashion of "Thousand-Eyes Europa".

"Shockwave Impact": Gevyl can create a shockwave out of the muscles in his arms and punch someone. If the timing of his fist and the shockwave is off by even a fraction of a second, the shot will not be a kill shot. If the two attacks are perfectly synched, then it's an OHKO.

History

Gale was born out of wedlock, to very young parents. His existence was kept secret until his parents were married, when he was two. He had a very happy and normal childhood, attending school just like everyone else, and being a kid. When he was 8, he saw members of the Oasis Royal Guard for the first time in his life. He was extremely impressed by how nicely they were dressed, and how sharp their eyes were. He decided to become one of the guard, and joined the Royal Training Academy when he was 16.

At first, Gale was turned off by everything that it took for him to even qualify for the Guard exam. he thought about quitting, but he thought about how much his little sister Niheena looked up to him and how proud his parents were that he was going to be part of the Guard, so he stayed. During one training session, he had an unfortunate accident with his sparring partner, and was blinded in his right eye.

When he was 18, he took the Guard exam and passed. He was then taken to see King Gevyl with the rest of the trainees that had passed the exam, and they were given Europa's Headband, officially deeming them as the Oasis Royal Guard. Gale was met with warm reception by his parents and sister, but also sadness since he had to stay in the castle until he was no longer a knight (he did get vacations).

When he was walking around the castle doing his rounds, he saw Angel for the first time. He thought that she was extremely lovely, but because of his rounds, he never had a lot of time to talk to her. He enjoyed her company when they could get some time together however.

When Gax took the castle, Gale and 37 other knights took the horses and unicorns and rode them as far away from the castle as they could. Seven of the Guard were killed along the way. They roughed it out in the Timeless Forest for some weeks. When it was Gale's turn to go and find food, he stumbled across Angel's resistance group. He was relieved to see that there were more survivors than the Guard that had fled with him, but he shed a tear when he heard of Gevyl's fate.

The Guard joined forces with the resistance, and he and Angel became a couple on a very cold night. They shared a bed that night. On a scouting mission, Gale was able to see the outskirts of the Bicentennial City, and that news prompted everyone to go along in high spirits. When they stormed the castle, Angel and Demon went along, leaving everyone else to deal with the battle raging out in the front. Gale prayed hard that they both would return.

Angel had given the signal to sing Europa's Hymn, and when the song had ended, the entire battlefield was quiet. Gale listened to his Communication Earring, hoping that at least one of the two would speak up. After a few minutes that seemed like hours, Angel finally gave the word that Gax was defeated. He was overjoyed and almost passed out from the feeling. When Angel was giving her rousing speech to the members of Oasis that had fought in the battle, Gale had slipped into the castle and made his way onto the balcony where the two was. In front of almost all of Oasis and in the light of the setting sun, he proposed to her. Angel naturally said yes.

Personality

Gale is a very determined man. Sometimes he can be boisterous, but he does mean well. He's a dedicated and loyal knight, and is easy to get along with. He's slightly perverted, but he knows when to mind his tongue.

None. He uses his electrified whip and large battleaxe to fight.

History

Niheena always looked up to her brother. When Gale left to become a part of the Guard, she was heartbroken. she decided to become a part of the Guard when she was old enough so she could be with her brother. As she waited to become 16, she turned her attention to her studies. She did exceptionally well in her classes, but she didn't excel. When she was 9, she found a Minidragon's egg in the woods near her home. She took care of the egg, and waited patiently to hatch. When he did hatch, she named him Damya. The two bonded over the years, and she considered him to be more than just a pet.

When she turned 16, she made it into the Royal Training Academy and studied magic, since she was terrible with weapons. She learned Frost Magic, as a precursor to Ice Magic. She also learned Ringlet Defense, a magic where she creates rings around her body, that spin at 25 RPM. When she turned 17, she was granted access to the castle in order to train and be supervised under members of the Guard. She wanted to train under her brother, but since they used different mediums of attack, they barely saw each other. She would get jealous whenever she saw Gale with Angel.

When the castle was taken by Gax, she and Damya fled on a unicorn being rode by Gale. She stayed with their group and enjoyed all of the time she had with her brother, but when they joined up with Angel's resistance group, she was jealous that he was spending more time with her and not his sister. She had to cast aside the feelings however, because the war was more important. During the war, she learned how to use Ice Magic and made for a much better opponent on the battlefield. She did her fair share of helping during the final fight.

When Gale proposed to Angel, Niheena finally realized that she couldn't keep clinging to her brother like she was doing. She accepted it but decided to become the wedding coordinator. She made sure that the two had the most lavish wedding Oasis had ever seen. They did.

Personality

Niheena is very nice, however she can be rude to whoever gets between her and Gale. She's tomboyish and won't hesitate to get dirty or climb trees or pick up things that would make most other girls quail in disgust. She likes to play games, and will become extremely angry if someone insults/hurts herself, Gale, or Damya.

Abilities

Niheena can use ice magic, and create ring shields to protect herself as she fights. Sometimes she teams up attacks with whoever's near her. She can combine her attack with Damya's fiery breath.
