Official, Nintendo-approved, Zelda timeline.

So, in Japan's Zelda 25th anniversary Hylian Historia book, Nintendo has finally released the OFFICIAL timeline. Now all timeline discussions can cease, for Nintendo has spoken. B| *shot*

Looks like the split timeline theory was partially debunked. Instead of two timelines, there are three! What do you think about it?

The only thing that doesnt make sense to me in this is

Isn't La a direct sequel to Lttp?

I like how there is no CD-I or Tingles games none of the timelines x3

Oooorrrr.... this was simply thrown together at the last minute just to end all the arguments.....nah! Nintendo would never do such a thing! ....Would they?

Anyway, it's interesting to see there are three timelines. Everything makes sense now! ...At least until another game comes out. Then we're up Shit Creek without a paddle.

THAT MAKES SENSE! Though it seems as though they just grouped the games that made sense together.

Interesting, I had always categorized the Link fails timeline along with Adult Link. I didn't realize that they were separate timelines all together.
But it does make sense, I'm glad that it was finally cleared up.

Finally it's all sorted out for us.
I was wondering if they were even thinking about the timeline at all when they were making the games, but they finally got it straightened out.

...I wonder if people will STILL be bickering over this.

It's true. Miyamoto already said that every new major game reshuffles the series while small ones are just added in where they fit. SS was the exception because for the first time ever, they decided where it would fit BEFORE they got to the meat of game production.

While it makes sense for the most part, I must admit the one thing that confuses me is the one that MS pointed out. OO series coming between aLttP and LA. But hell, it's Nintendo.

In all honesty, I agree with Tkun and the ORIGINAL dual time line theory.

Link 'failed' timeline being at the end of the 'Twilight Princess' timeline.

I may establish the full reasoning behind this timeline some time for those uncertain. That and I'm bored.

CONFIRMED: Link dies against Ganondorf in his fight at the end of OoT, leading to the events of ALttP.

It's the only thing that would make since. Inorder for the sages to seal Ganon away, as talked about in aLttP's Sealing War, the sages would have to all be awakened. Of course...aLttP called them wisemen. However we can safely assume this has been retconned. As it was the ORIGINAL that said wisemen, every version aLttP after said sages.

Lets be honest, if your hero fails? It would take an entire war just to stop Ganon! However one can't help but question how the 'maiden's of aLttP (all Hylian) are decendent from the sages of OOT...

So 64 pointed out something kinda freaky that we were joking around about but it was kinda cool. Not to be taken seriously. What if the original inhabitants of kokori village were deku scrubs. And the deku tree grew so fond of Link he created Kokrii and the deku scrubs got made that they were replaced and became 'mad scrubs' and want to kill link now. Except the shop ones that just want money XD.

We got on this cause I was like you know, if Deku Tree got link as a baby, how would he take care of him. Saria probley would have had too right?

That'd be kind of weird. I'm sure many a shipper would not approve of that theory, but it sounds right to me.

PErsonally I think Ritos evolved from Cuccos. I mean, if everyone was forced to mountian tops, they would want to bring a source of food and income right? Sell eggs and chickens and can eat them. But they are all gone in WW.

And the cows! Did they like, evolve into pigs or something?! XD

Cows probably moved or died in the flood. I remember reading somewhere the Rito are actually descendants from the Zora, but I'm not sure.

I know they are suppose to be but still! xD
