Project Cafe

Let's face it, the Wii's old. Many people have been speculating that Nintendo would announce its next console at E3 this year. Well, info's been leaked early. Codenamed "Project Cafe" aka Wii2 was announced last week. The controller will have the standard dual analog sticks in addition to d-pad and trigger buttons. The twist is, it'll have a six-inch LCD touch screen built in to the controller. It's said that it will cost anywhere from $350 to $400. Rumoured release date is early 2012. The system will be based on a revamped version of AMD's R700 GPU architecture, and will out perform the PlayStation 3's NVIDIA 7800GTX-based processor. The system's CPU will be a custom-built triple-core IBM PowerPC chipset, but the clocking speeds will be faster. The system will support 1080p output with the potential for stereoscopic 3D as well. Basically what that means is that it'll have more processing power than the PS3 and XBOX360. The design is said to be about the size of the 360, and resembles a modernized Super Nintendo.

How did i not know this? I freaking lurk and I don't know this! Anyway, I had a fangasm several times looking at the touch screen on the controller. That is some sexy sexy stuff.

Nintendo recently confirmed that they'll be showing the new system at E3 this year. In addition, it'll be a fully playable version of the system. Looks like E3's gonna be fun. :3
