Alright, first I don't know if this is the right place to put this but whatever.

Anyway as you might know the shekah sign appears everywhere. So there has to be a reason for this. So I think think that the shekah are able to turn themselves into animals.Link turns into a wolf so you know that it's possible. So now what do you think? i'd like to hear

Well, i have heard of the Triforce being the thing that turned Link into a wolf, HOWEVER.

If the theory that the Shiekah became the Twili, which leads to things like you, you might just have something going on here. I mean, as much as it was purely Zant's power, he did turn Midna into an Imp. I don't know if that counts...

That's a hunk of Twilight that Zant shoved into Link the second time. Midna holds onto it and from there, you can turn into a wolf at will. I won't spoil too much, but...

Well, in Ocarina of Time, the Well and Shadow Temple are littered with scraps of information pertaining to that. "Shadow Temple...Here is gathered Hyrule's bloody history of greed and hatred." While there's no other word about it, Sheik has said that Impa was the last survivor of the Sheikah.

In this context, one can infer that the Well and Shadow Temple were the final resting place of the Sheikah. The word "greed" is important in this context. All throughout Hyrule's history, there has been one artifact that Hylians and demons and the like have sought out more than any other: the Triforce. The Sheikah have been sworn protectors of the Royal Family for generations upon generations, and as explained in Ocarina of Time, the Hylian Royal Family knows the legends of the Triforce. Since people cannot torture and kill the Royal Family, they can turn to the next best thing: the Sheikah who protect them. however, it is not to say that Hylians, Gorons, and Zora were not safe from harm in this time.

shekah theory Wallofskulls

When you look at the walls and even the floors of some of the rooms in the Shadow Temple, you can see that it is completely lined with bones. A lot of people have to have died in order to get that many bones in there, not to mention there are similar rooms with a bone decor in the Well.

shekah theory Saltirecross

As you see in this picture, there is a saltire cross behind Link, with a puddle of dried blood on the floor. the way a saltire cross works is, the victim is tied into the wooden pegs and then stabbed and left to bleed out of the wound. the method is incredibly painful and can be altered to be a quick death or a slow one if the need arises. If the torture is slow, then it can be used to get information out of. That goes back to the idea that the Sheikah were tortured for information about the Triforce.

In that room, there is an invisible hole right behind the saltire cross. The bodies were most likely dropped down that hole, as it leads to the basement of the Well, where there is a giant puddle of extremely toxic water. At first glance, this water seems to be just that-toxic water. But if you look closely at the floor, you'll see that it's not what it seems at first glance.

shekah theory 100_0873

There are hands that are jutting out of the water. This seems to imply that some of the bodies that were tossed into the water below were actually still living, as they frantically tried to get out, but perhaps were too weak or already too close to death to get out safely and thus their bodies were broken down and dissolved by the toxic water, leaving the hands.

Another way this theory can go is that it started off as water, and the more bodies that were thrown into the puddle made the water even more toxic as time went on and they decomposed, again, leaving the hands as the only reminder that the pit was used for dead bodies.

More evidence to support this is the abundance of the ReDead and Gibdo enemy found in both places.

shekah theory ReDead

ReDeads are zombie-like creatures by nature. They scream and paralyze you and then attack you. ReDeads can simply be the manifestation of the souls that were not able to move on, or they could be Sheikah that have come back from the dead for reasons unknown.

shekah theory MM_Gibdo

Gibdoes are mummy-like creatures that work in the exact same way a ReDead does-by screaming and paralyzing you, then attacking you. Again, they can be the manifestation of souls that were unable to move on, or they could have come back to life.

Gibdoes are almost always found in coffins, which seems to imply that they could be deceased Hylians, killed in the struggle to obtain knowledge about the Triforce. ReDeads could be Sheikah, left to rot in the depths of the Well and Shadow Temple, as they were insignificant to the Hylians when they couldn't extrapolate the knowledge they wanted from them.

shekah theory 92px-Sheikah_logo

This is the Sheikah logo, which Impa wears on the brooch connecting to her armor, and which Sheik wears on his chest. The logo resembles an eye with a single tear coming down from it. However, some versions of the Sheikah eye do not have the tear.

shekah theory GossipStone

Gossip Stones, for example, have what looks more like the base of a flower than a teardrop. This could perhaps mean the tear was added during the events of the betrayal. Since it would take more than a few days to eradicate all Sheikah, this could possibly be true. Also, at the top of the Sheikah eye, there are three triangles. the Triforce also has three triangles in it, which could have perhaps tipped off Hylians that they knew about the Triforce.

The Lens of Truth is the item that you find inside the Well. When you use it, it will allow you to see things that are invisible, so you can continue your adventure. There is a man in Kakariko Village that says there was a man that could see the truth. He lived in a house where the Well now stands. It is possible that this man could have been a Sheikah, and the Lens of Truth was his possession.

shekah theory Lens_of_truth

shekah theory 92px-Sheikah_logo

The Lens of Truth closely resembles the Sheikah eye, with the three points at the top being the three triangles, the diamond in the center being the pupil/iris, and the handle being the teardrop. Because it is never directly stated whether the man could see the truth alone or had the Lens of Truth to see the truth, coupled with the fact that Sheikah used to live in Kakariko Village and the man's house used to be where the Well now stands, it is safe to assume the man was a Sheikah.

What's more is, the man could be the Dead Hand.

shekah theory OOT_DeadHand02

The Dead Hand is a grotesque enemy in the Well which you must fight and defeat in order to obtain the Lens of Truth. It attacks by grabbing you with one of its disembodied hands and then bites you. The Dead Hand could merely be protecting the last possession it owns. since he has it, it is likely the man took the Lens of Truth to the grave with him. Considering how it is the first time you encounter this enemy, and it is much different from the other enemies you find in the Well, plus the fact that you get the Lens of Truth once it's gone, holds credence to this.

Note: it is not clear whether the Dead Hand in the Shadow Temple is the same Dead Hand as the one in the Well. There is no evidence to support this claim, however, in the seven years that pass between the Well and Shadow Temple adventures, one cannot dismiss the possibility that it is the same enemy both times.

Bongo Bongo is the boss of the Shadow Temple. It has been stated by Sheik that long ago, Impa helped seal an evil entity underneath the Well, but it was able to free itself.

shekah theory Bongobongoscreen5

It is unclear what role Bongo Bongo plays in the history of the Well and Shadow Temple. There are lots of conflicting ideas as to what it is exactly, however one thing is clear in all of them: whoever Bongo Bongo was before it became the dungeon boss perhaps got the worst treatment of anyone else in the race for the Triforce. It's apparent that its head and hands were severed; most likely using one of the many guillotines you can find in the Shadow Temple.

Some people say that Bongo Bongo is the man that is the owner of the Lens of Truth, others say he created the Mask of Truth. Others say that he was a deranged Sheikah who went mad and killed innocent people, which would support the theory that he was executed, and therefore has no head when you fight him. Others say that it's the product of Ganondorf's meddling with the Triforce, which doesn't make much sense, as Impa had sealed it away prior to those events.

And that's my take on it. Feel free to question this theory as you please. I also want to give credit to a friend of mine, because he was the one to call this to my attention in the first place. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be able to make this theory of my own. XD
