Silent Hill/Legend of Zelda Crossover RP Rules and Registration

Hello residents of Hyrule Field! It's-a me, Mario, but you knew that already. Anyway, in case you weren't on the chat last night, I have thought of a PERFECT idea for an RP.



I really can't believe no one has thought of this before. Well, there HAVE been other horror RPs on the site, so I decided to step up to the plate.



Now, last weekend, I went to my library to pick out a couple DVDs. Usually, I don't watch scary movies, but I grabbed the Silent Hill movie, since I played the first one at a friend's house. I thought it was much more fun than scary, so I brought the movie home. When I watched it, it was safe to say that movies CAN work out if they are based on games!



And then it hit me: This would make for a great RP!



I got lots of ideas for it almost immediately. I was so excited, I couldn't wait to post it! (I'm still gonna save the RP for a little later, so I can let the other RPs die down a bit, but if you want me to start it already, I'll see what I can do.)



But, this RP is a LOT different then what we are all used to. So let me get the more unique elements out of the way.





PLOT:



Basically, Hyrule has entered an industrial revolution period, and much more technology exists. Fans, trains, conveyer belts, guns, saws, and more are just some of the things that have been created during this time.



Automobiles and motorcycles have just been invented, and are very expensive and uncommon. Riding horseback is still the most common way to travel.



However, this is not really considered "good." The legends of the Hero of Time have long since been forgotton, and religion is not considered important anymore. The kingdom is ruled by a new Princess Zelda, but it feels like commercialism runs the land now. Many wish they hadn't grown up to see such terrible times.



Wars have been broken out many times over simple arguments over who invented what. The Hyrulian Dream has practically faded out of existence, as Rupees are the only thing that matters in these dark times.



Especially for Lady Valon, the new owner of of the Lon Lon Milk Corporation. Lon Lon Ranch has expanded from a simple farm to a large factory. The smoke pollutes the skies and can be seen even from the top of Death Mountain.



However, having a large milk business does not give you much power anymore when everyone is unhappy, despite the smiling cow mascot on the bottles. You were basically a slave if you worked in this factory.



Knowing this, Lady Valon created a cult dedicated to power. All workers were required to join, and to pay a hefty sum of Rupees every month, lest they be killed. This cult was simply called "The Order."



The Order believed that sacrificing cows and building machines would give everyone more money and rejuvinate the economy. However, things soon got out of hand when Lady Valon's daughter was born.



Halon simply wanted to grow up in a happy home with a caring family and much simpiler life. Lady Valon couldn't stand her daughter thinking like this. When Halon went to school, the other students called her a witch for being born from a woman so powerful and mean. Halon cried every day, and could never bring herself to smile. She never even left her room most of the time.



Lady Valon noticed this, and she thought her daughter would be a perfect candidate for being the birth mother of their God. So, when she thought her daughter was ready, she brought her to their settlement in the graveyard of Kakariko Village. A high priest in The Order, Renado, prepared for Halon to be burnt at the stake, to purify her and let God welcome the cult members into a life of wealth and happiness.



What they didn't know is that when fear gradiually builds up, it becomes hate. Halon's body was badly burnt during the ritual. She hardly looked like a normal Hylian anymore. And yet, she lived. She broke free of the ropes that bound her, and caused the fire to spread...



It spread throughout the entire land, killing much of the Hyrulian population. Most of the cult members fell victim to the flames that day, except for Lady Valon.



"Mother is God in the eyes of a child..."





The fire still burns underground to this day. Stepping on the wrong side of the road could melt your shoes. The factory was abandoned, and the door locked forever, with the keys spread out to many regions of the land.



Castle Town is mostly destroyed, with small groups of survivors trying to make it past these hard times. Death Mountain's ring of clouds has once again turned red. Zora's Domain has dried up completely, as well as Zora's River. Gerudo Valley is plagued with violent sandstorms. Kokiri Forest has been reduced to a pile of ash.



And Kakariko Village was the worst damaged. Any survivors have locked themselves into the church, but none of them can be called sane. The worst part, however, is that unnatural...things...have begun to roam the land, seeking to kill all who travel to the once-great kingdom of Hyrule...

















FEARS





Fears make the world go 'round in this RP. NO ONE can be afraid of nothing!



ALL CHARACTERS MUST HAVE AT LEAST THREE FEARS!!!! Fears will determine what monsters will stalk you, and when. You can post your fears in your character profile. For example, if your characters are afraid of sharp objects, you will encounter many blade-wielding monsters. Also, YOU CAN BE KILLED AT ANY TIME!!! You may use as many powers as you want, but whatever you do, only fight monsters you encounter if you are ready.





WORLDS





As anyone who has played Silent Hill before knows, there are three different worlds that exist, two of them being much more interesting.



Real World: This is self-explanitory. The real world is where all residents of Hyrule live, and (most of the time) no strange things happen. However, it is completely abandoned...



Fog World: This is quite a strange world. Anyone who is overwhelmed by monsters in the Real World will be brought here, and it is VERY hard to leave without a "key" to get out. Unnatural fog covers all of the land, and ash falls like snow from the sky. The monsters from Silent Hill first appear here, as well as classic supernatural Zelda monsters.



Otherworld: Oh lord. This is where all of your nightmares come true. Everything is covered with rust, you can hear metal clanking everywhere, and you are ALWAYS in danger. The Otherworld is where all of your life experiances and fears will come to life.



Everyone will start out in the Real World, but eventually they may all meet up in the Fog World and be divided into smaller groups.



Every couple of posts, when I feel it's ready, the Otherworld will arrive. Be prepared if I post this sound:

This is the infamous Siren. When you hear The Siren, birds will fly away swiftly in flocks, and you had better take cover. The Siren sounds a lot like an Air Raid Siren, which were used in times of war when a fleet of planes were going to bomb a city.



However, this Siren means a lot more danger. The walls will literally peel themselves apart, and rust will cover the walls. Monsters appear more often, and they will be much more hostile. It can be heard throughout the entire land, which means all of your characters will hear it at once. (It makes more sense if you read the posts while it plays.)

The Siren means that the Otherworld is coming, and fast...



KEYS





Keys are also important in this RP. Each and every character must have a Key in order to end their time in the cursed version of Hyrule and unlock the door to the factory. To get your Key, you must stand up to all your fears, and then your Key will be presented to you.



Keys are not actually keys, per se. They are a copy of a personal item your character holds dear to them, whether it be a good luck charm, or a doll of a lost family member.



Halon may point out clues pointing to your Key. You can post what you want your Keys to be in your profile.





CHARACTERS





Your character profile should look like this:





Name:



Age:



Nicknames: (If any.)



Fears: (3 needed at the least. Add more if you want a bigger challenge!)



Key: (The most important item to your character that has been lost in the past. It is needed to unlock the door to the factory, confront The Order, and restore happiness to the land of Hyrule.)



Powers: (Limit 3.)



Weaknesses: (Only 1 needed, since Fears are a bit more important.)



Backstory:


There is a 3-character limit. Remember, ALL of the characters in this RP MUST have their Keys for them to leave the Fog World and the Otherworld. You can create your own monster, as well, but only one for each person.



Whenever a monster or a character such as Lady Valon, Halon, and Renado are introduced in the actual RP, not this character registration topic, I will post their information in their intro post.



I will post my characters and important monsters in this topic later, when more people join. I've got good feelings for this RP!



One last thing. I'm thinking of calling this RP "The Eyes of a Child." If anyone wants to recommend a different name, do so in your posts in this topic please. Thank you.
