Question about Facebook.

Apparently, my dad was using Facebook, and this random ad popped up for breast cancer on his profile and CRASHED the Internet and gave him malware, just like what happened to me say... 2 months ago?



I don't know if this is something going around Facebook, and I DON'T WANT ANYONE WHO IS NOT USING INTERNET SECURITY SYSTEMS to find out. I just want to know if anyone else hasn't experienced this. We don't know if someone on his friend list has sent this virus to him, or, Facebook has been hacked. Did anyone notice these symptoms two days prior to today?




1. Severe Lagging



2. Unable to post status or upload pictures



3. Unable to type out words, letters, ecetera



4. A recent friend request from someone you may or may not have known.

I haven't had this happen to me, and hopefully not. But I have had random ads and links to nasty ass shit posted on my profile. DO NOT CLICK THOSE! Go into your profile and [x] it off your wall and I would recomend changing password. I belive those are spamware haking into peoples profiles, I see it all the time in the IM. I've had to change my password about 4 times since joining last year. If anything, I would recomand he at least do that.

Unable to post status, I have that too, but I think that might have to do with the sever lagging or sometimes I get, not able to update at this time.

Unable to type words? I've only gotten that in the IM and that only happens to me when I have FB on the same page as XAT so I don't think that will help him much.

And I don't get friends requests rarly so can't help with that.

I fixed it and deleted the malware, but we're trying to prevent it form happening again.
